Hell mode blitz requirement changed

The new blitz event launched just over 12 hours ago.

When the event launched, the requirements for hell mode were for 3 superstars. This was changed to 4 superstars about 20 minutes into the event.

This is yet another case of a mistake that benefits the players getting rectified in record time. It's completely asymmetric, and all it does is frustrate the player base. Mistakes that hurt the player base take days or weeks to resolve. Mistakes that benefit the player base are solved in minutes.

The way it has been handled by Scopely is not good business at all. The first mistake is that the event didn't work properly the when it was released. This happens far too often. I'd estimate the hit rate on events working perfectly at 60%. Faction leaders are inundated with complaints about events not working. It cannot and should not be that difficult to test things out before they are released.

The second big mistake that Scopely have made is by keeping totally silent about it. Instead of owning the mistake and communicating the change to everyone, there’s nothing. It speaks volumes that this type of thing gets swept under the carpet. A message to all the players and a small token appreciation bag or maybe even some blitz tickets would go such a long way. If you’re able to write 3 lines of code to update the requirements in record time, someone can at Scopely can make the decision to try and smooth things over with players.

I hope that this is taken seriously. Players can accept mistakes if they are handled in a good way. Being up front and communicating is key to that.

Thanks

It isn’t fair that you all changed the requirements from 3 superstars to 4 superstars to participate in the HELL MODE of the blitz. Stop putting us behind a paywall. You know most DONT have Keith Lee or Damian Priest yet you try to force us to pay to do a mode we should ALL be able to do.

  • Can you please explain why the minimum for hell mode was changed from 3 to 4 after the event started? I leveled up trickster Eddie to do hell mode and now im unable to do hell mode because i unfortunately do not have Damien Priest or Keith Lee. Pretty awful move and I’m sure I’m not the only one that fell victim to yet another mid event change brought to you by our friends at scopely. Please change it back to 3 for hell mode.

  • Game becoming more of a job it feels now. Used to be all about fun, and now you have to spend all of your money just to be able to do anything in the game now. This blitz is a fine example how they trying to make more money then worrying about what anyone else wants.

This isn’t right that you changed from 3 superstars required to 4 in the hell blitz AFTER the event started. Way to make your player base upset that are loyal to this game. This has sent a lot of people close to over the edge to quit playing this game as you constantly find ways to screw over the community.

This isn’t right and you should NOT change a event AFTER it had started. That is horrible towards your customer and player base. A explanation is needed besides $$ which is the true reason. You should change it back to 3 like it was!

So, now the trend is "kickoff blitz hell mode only for special customers" and final blitz too? That's a bit too much, one of them has to be playable by the vast majority of regular players (used the word "regular" in order to point out that loyalty should be rewarded)...also, upping a minimum AFTER the beginning of an event is something very despicable...I wouldn't have been able to play it even at 3, but you should have guessed that players would have used the coin event in order to perform well in the blitz....

An error has been made? Well, no being is perfect, it can happen

Is there still time to fix it and avoid consequences? Hell NO!

There are many companies that make their employees pay for their mistake, this way everytime an employee thinks "not gonna double check this thing before its release", a silent alarm rings within his/her head and makes him/her think twice about not double checking....gotta check if this one is among them....

It's hard for me to rationalize this. Having Lee and priest on separate lines will prevent most players from getting the bonuses. That seems like a good spot for the line to be drawn.

Forcing players to have one of them to 1) do hell blitzes and 2)get bonus points for tech eddie (another somewhat rare character) is too far.

I understand encouraging players to try for rare characters and giving bonuses for those who have them. But forcing players to have one of them to do hell mode and, therefore, do more of other modes of blitzes to max it makes the game less fun and more like a 2nd job. Which players have repeatedly pushed back against.

ones an event has started they shouldn’t change the requirements. That is the main issue here. If it’s 4 from the start, it’s not fun but it’s an equal playing field. Changing it after some people already benefited from the lower requirements is what i’m, and i think everybody should be, upset about. Backtracking is the worst thing they can do. The required matches multiplied by at least an factor 8 as a result.

  • Changing blitz requirements around 20 minutes post launch is poor form.

We had no warning or apology or even acknowledgement of your mistake.

Even if 4 was the intended requirements why Change post launch it effects scoopley in no way and gives no player any unfair advantages

  • I dont know why it comes as a surprise that Scopely cannot handle the most basic of tasks where their mistakes are concerned. Champions is a very mishandled and glitch laden application. Compared to the other games that Scopely manages, Champions doesn’t even compare to the fairness and overall player’s benefit that is provided on other apps. This Blitz issue is yet another example of how Scopely neglects its player base, and does everything they can to make Champions unfair and not fun for its players, when the opposite is so easy and simple to accomplish.

  • As always happen when lunching a new event Issue happen .

The way this side of game is managed looks absurd . Especially because they are kept silent. The things most infuriating players is the missing of support and missing of communication .

With scopely everything which afflict player is forgot or takes ages to be rectified when something happen against scopely they immediately fix it.

this blitz is again an example … changing requirements during the event is utter ridicolous especially because you link a special pay event whether you give the 000000000,1% possibility to pull the necessary superstar for filling the requirements

wake up developers , change a bit the game , the story line behind , and please manage the events launch smartly. Try them in advance

  • We all get you Scopely, another way to force us spend on loot to try get mega superstars required for the hell blitz. Go on, continue ruin your reputation.

  • When I started the blitz today the superstar requirements were three for hell mode. After the first blitz it changed to four which was weird and irritating. Please do something about this.

The usual Scopely…absurd request for a game that took hour to be played…requirement for the blitz totally not accettable…you request 3 rare player to play hell mode and you pretend that us have at least 2 of them…that’s impossible…we have a work…we have a family…we spend our money to trying to be competitive…it’s not possible to do if you continue to pretend something absurd!!!

Another desicion from Scopely to change the event after its actually start, this is unacceptable, stop pissing the community off

    **edited for content by dkmangler**

  • Total BS and disregard to players !! Plain n simple...hell mode is 2damn matches, why the hell we need 4 minimum is ridiculous and should be put back at 3 in order to be fair to the ones that benefited early in event and others get screwed around again by Scopely and their "genius intelligent" morons they call staff !!

  • As always these changes were implemented without any communication from the game.

What is the real benefit to making this change post launch? It only serves to piss people off.

Scopely devs really need to figure out how to implement a testing environment. How do you constantly mess up a copy/paste event? What makes this blitz so different from the last that it requires a fix 20 minutes after launch?

  • Changing the blitz requirements after it started is unfair to the player base, especially with no communication about it.

  • Yes. Wish scopely plays this game for a week and go through all odds like other players does, so that he will at least have some curtosy on players who at least spent money on this game everytime to buy a new error or stupid requirement stuffs

  • Can you please explain why the minimum for hell mode was changed from 3 to 4 after the event started? • Blitzes r getting dumb again most poeple can't do hell because there guys that unless u spend money u can't play why can't u guys just make all 3 level easy for everyone to play its dumb that all u care about is your pockets and give little care to the players every time we turn around there r miss up on your end and yet where the one to pay like come on before to everyone

I completely agree with the OP here. This is absolutely bad on Scopely's part to first change the req from 4 to 3, and then have 2 premium/ rare characters req in it after it was changed to 4. As mentioned by plenty of people here and in our faction, people have their lives and play this game to relax and have fun. Having to grind like a mad man for both the blitz is nuts!

I can see having 4b req for the first blitz as you are trying to sell the starter packs. But having the same brutal req in the 2nd blitz is totally unfair and outrageous for the player base. This is time and again the same thing - taking 2-3 brilliant steps (like auto claim feature, decent SD, decent MLC), and then taking 10 steps backward as usual by screwing with most of the players. Please Scopely! As much as I understand that the company is out there to make money, you cannot do this to your loyal players who have been still paying for the last 4-5 years! Please consider changing such even structures and reqs. I sincerely request you to make this right for us. Thank you.

  • This has been going on for as long as I have played the game. If it benefits scopely then they either never fix it or it takes forever to get fixed and if it benefits the players its fixed quickly. They have made it impossible to play hell mode ever since they changed the blitzes every other week unless you just happened to have one of hard to get character requirements. They should have left the blitz alone and it should be changed back immediately but they could care less and will probably never address it except maybe with some lame rewards bag after the event is already over

  • Glitches, bugs and crashes and mistakes like this are big part of the game. To be fair i kind of got used to them. The thing that makes me really angry regarding blitz is that their forcing an insane grinding for those who don’t wish to buy the starter pack. A game is supposed to fun. 60+ blitz runs(6 slow matches each) is not fun. It’s sounds like full time job. This is something that need change. Scopely has to find another way of selling the starter pack. And this brutal, time consuming grind.

  • If you wanna keep making blitzes this tedious that takes hundreds of normal matches to hit minimum, at least provide an auto-clear function for the levels previously beaten at 3 stars. Take my blitz tickets, sure, but don't waste my time.

Scopely continues to show that they don’t care about their loyal player base and only care about money. It is a shame that they have stayed completely SILENT about this. That is the worst part. It shows that they truly don’t care. Thanks scopely for showing your true colors yet again

  • Once an event is launched, it should be kept same for 24 hours to be fair to playerbase. Only change should be done if points are not getting counted. No other case seems valid.

  • Can you please explain why the minimum requirements for hell mode was changed from 3 to 4 after the event started? This is the poor form of decision, request you to revert back the change to 3.

Excellent post. Nothing much else to add to the OP.

I'm not too upset about this particular blitz, but changing events yet again after they have been released (with poor or no communication at all) leaves a really bad taste.
