Hi, can anyone explain why my multiply gems decrease from 3 to 2 when using the increase by 3 move when playing against an opponent with a decrease multiply trainer.

This is likely due to a visual bug showing the multiplier less than it should be. We will pass to the team for review. Thanks

It's all in the math. I had to figure this out also. If your opponent has Edge (trickster) and has his coach ability maxed it will do this. I'll try to show you in a simple math explanation. Say blue gems do 100 damage. You multiply with bonus of 2 so now it does 200 damage. If Edge is maxed he reduces the damage by 70% so the gem drops 140 points making it worth only 60 damage. Less than the original gem damage.

Even more; Say your 2X gem is worth 200 and you use the move to increase 3X so you're thinking it's 5X now and is worth 1000. Now with Edge knocking off 70% that's 700 from that 1000 leaving you with only 300 damage.

So in a nutshell make sure your opponent doesn't have a trainer/coach with 70% multiply gem reduction. If it's only 35% reduction it doesn't do you as bad. I hope this helped and didn't cause more confusion. BRAWL ON!
