Bayley "The Soul Model" Showdown (+ Giveaway)

It was the worst showdown event of the past year.
Increasing Notarity to 700 to 1000 was the worst decision taken. No extra rewards added. So it was very less gaining compare to past events.
Milestones wese also bad, not reachable to player who is not big spending whale.
After 450, there were 5ss wall to pass everytime. Worst match making process.
New bayley is well built, specially use for montez.
Solo contest was not good. It was built for spenders. They need to work on it.
Faction contest milestones were only 5, so less rewards.
Also less superstar as contest superstar for f2p players.
Hope you will take some necessary changes.

I find that it's getting increasingly hard to get past the walls of 5ss tag teams (more difficult when a mixed event) which appear all too quickly, I have 5ss in my roster now but still impossible to progress! Instead of automatically selecting the strongest from everyone's roster maybe change it to the weakest?
The increasing of the notoriety from 700 - 1000 is just making it more of a grind without incentives, may I suggest that you reward those who grind events! Give us more leagues above that go beyond the 15k maximum, therefore rewarding SD coins effort and enabling those who miss a portion of the event to achieve the latter milestones! I actually like SD events but I find immensely frustrating that I constantly see the same accounts every refresh!! How is this possible out of all the players you're seeing the same person over and over again! It's a refresh, so refresh it!
Mutants not a fan! Zombies I can accept but MOTU, now mutants is just too far...it's a WWE game there's plenty of superstars left to bring into the game in my opinion!

Nothing about this showdown setup was good at all. Changing the notoriety from 700 to 1,000 is ridiculous. Not a problem for those with big enough rosters however the majority of players not set like that.
The fact that there was a side event specifically for spending loot coins shows where your mind is at.
Do like the f/m design as to same old m/m that was good and should continue this. Makes it so that have to work on both females and and males

First of all, event was overall pretty good. Good rewards, not so rare characters for bonus points, and like every other showdown event, pretty good.
But there was one main problem, and that is new notoriety league. 1000 notoriety is definitely too much and should be either rolled back to 700 or rewards should be increased. Another drawback was characters for bonus points not giving too many bonus points.

can only agree with the previous speakers! a frustrating event!

These events just keep getting worse. The balance of being able to grind and be successful to having to pay to win is just getting more absurd with each event. You’re losing dedicated players. Between raising the notoriety for the top tier and increasing the max milestone again and lowering the free points available again, it’s becoming nearly impossible for the average player to compete let alone enjoy the events. It’s not too late to get things back on track and enjoyable but time is running out quickly

SD event design/ structure - It was decent with the req for SD. The scaling was too high and it was targeted for the whales only. It's okay.
"Not every event is designed for all the players". Though the frequency of this happening over the last 2-3 months is mind-boggling.
Pros -
- The matchmaking was decent this time around. At least for me, I had an easy time getting to 1k noto. After that, it was total mayhem with constant revenge matches, which again is fine for my roster. But I don't think anyone without a 5ss superstar stood a chance. Now, this is exactly where all the Cons start.
Cons -
- Another p2p event where normal ppl stand no chance.
- An increase in noto from 700 to 1000 to "promote" the use of the Icons of WM is just bad implementation. No one will invest in those promoters unless we get more resources in terms of SD coins, expedition coins and better stipulation currency. That is a fact.
- No increase in the amount of SD coins.
Overall ranking 2.5/5.

Worst showdown in some time I am sorry but the fact u guy think we have nothing better to do then play this game no stop is sicking we have jobs and family's u know and to top it off u had an event that was paid only to play us a joke like why do u think everyone has thousands of dollars to full your greedy pockets is sicking

dont love the new scoring system requirements, that seems pretty much the standard response. Also this was sadly another pay to hit the final milestone event. It used to be with grinding and all the event superstars you could usually hit the final milestones, but this time even with everyone required there was quite a bit of spending required. I know it's a business to run, but the money has been made generally on farming required superstars. Allowing people who have been working paying and grinding to get to the end of an event isn't that unreasonable, especially since we still don't get the new character even getting there. I enjoy the showdowns in general since they don't kill an entire weekend for a participation trophy like blitzing does. Looking forward to the next one.

- TOUR: The Tour for the event was good with a reasonable requirement and very good rewards especially those straps. I hope this format of tours continues wherein straps are offered as rewards for contest superstars.
- SHOWDOWN: The showdown was changed as mentioned in the blog post. But it had many shortcomings that really hurt the fun part of this showdown.
- First, the notoriety level was increased from 700 to 1000 for reaching the highest level. This did not increase the showdown coins that we get. The amount of showdown coins should also be increased with this change to be reasonable.
- Second, the matching of the opponents was not as mentioned in the blog. As soon as we reach the 450+ notoriety mark, we get to see only 5-star silver opponents. This is really difficult for most of the player base as most of the players don't have a 5-star female to compete.
- Third, Previously when there was 700 notoriety as the limit for the highest league for a showdown, we would get 1500 showdown coins per match if we were above 700(till the limit of 15000 was reached). Now when we had 1000 notoriety as the limit for the highest league, we got only 1000 showdown coins per match. This increased the number of matches we have to play to max the showdown. The main downside it posed is that a player will have to face or mainly refresh more to get things done. This had a negative impact on the player base as players had to see more 5-star silver opponents and most of the players don't even have a single 5-star female.
- The required superstars for the showdown were reasonable.
- MILESTONES: The faction milestones were very good and very likely to be maxed without much trouble. I hope this type of faction milestone distribution continues.
- The solo milestones need to be improved. A very big portion of the rewards is concentrated in the last three milestones which are very wrong. In my opinion, the rewards must be evenly distributed in each milestone as it would also benefit the players that grind a lot for the solo event..
- One more drawback for this solo event was that it included way more pay stuff than usual events. This was really too much of pay stuff

increasing notoriety without additional bonus sd coins is non sense, why would you increase something with the same thing you'll get from the previous bonus one? it only gives more time to reach the max, spend more hp. I think everything should be balanced out from resources and requirements

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” … and we all know there’s a whole lotta fixin’ needed in various aspects of this game. SD was fine and doable the way it was. Getting and maintaining over 700 was a challenge that I and many others struggled and worked for. Going to 1000 was nuts and for nothing extra.

This is not a bad event. I understand increasing the notoriety to 1,000 to max out the event, however, the amount of SD coins awarded should have been increased as well. We are essentially doing more work for the same amount of pay. If you are going to keep the notoriety at 1,000 please increase the amount of SD coins awarded.

This event was disappointing.
1) For this event I had all but two of the required superstars (HoF Eddie and PH Bayley) and I was only able to get to Milestone 13. I had even purchased some loot coins. There was a specific spend event so you should be able to grind out the other event.
2) The increase to needing 1000 notoriety would be ok if there was an increase in showdown coins. The added items in the showdown shop (Promoters, HoF Tokens) has been a huge draw on the showdown coins so we need was to get more.

Very Hard to Play Event, for those who like the game. I think you liked it.
The best managed to get a very high notoriety.
The Loots, I don't think they were the best, there are still some rare fighters with higher chances to go.
Tours were good. with the Bonus fighters very accessible.
Faction event was Easier than individual, maybe it lacks better rewards.
In summary, I enjoyed this event. and looking forward to the next.

These changes are just ridiculous! The game is going more and more to a 7day fulltime job. But instead of earning money you have to spend!
Its ok to spend if you want certain stars or tokens, but its not ok that you have to spend that you can reach last 2 milestones in an event! Thats simply dump!
A sidenode where you have to spend 400$ that you can achieve a milestone is more than ridiculous.
Notority 1000 with no revenge avaiable and always the same opponents is such a boring thing. Spending over 1000HP and grinding till 4am is bullshit (yes its night in europe and at 8am coins are given out)
Total bullshit these changes.
Do me a favour and fire this idiot with this amazing idea!!!!

Sell this game to someone who will gives a dam scopely act like they are giving away real money all we are getting are some fictional game characters that the computer can beat at anytime its super sad that a game have all potential to be great but it's own company is holding it back

Sadly it got even harder, specially for those of us who do not have top tier stars. A lot of us could not do the 1k notoriety day 1 due to simply top notch opponents only appearing. No matter how much you reset and wasted coins.
My suggestion is to revert back or at least make the opponent picking in the matchmaking be like this: easy / medium / hard, so we can at least be able to fight a few battles even if the reward is very low notoriety. Also the matchmaking should consider relative power (like the blitz) because I simply cannot face a 5ss full with my 4ss...

So i am going to seperate this into two seperate sections. The first is related directly to the changes in the showdown tournament and the second will be related to the rewards/etc in the event.
Showdown changes wise 0/10:
Changing the required amount of SD coins is a poor choice at best. An increase of almost 50% notoriety needed without an increase in rewards was poorly thought out. If you want to require alot more matches then you should be increasing the rewards that individuals get. This could be as simple as adding a 22.5k showdown coin tier at the end. I know this will recalculate the goals for contests and this is fine. The showdown event notes stated that the lower tiers would have lower talent level opponents and this tournament felt the exact same as previous ones. At roughly 550 notoriety, which is the halfway point in this new showdown setup, was double 5ss matches. So functionally nothing in this tournament changed matchmaking wise while requiring considerably more matches. Even with showdown promoters this problem is not solved unless you also happen to have one of the 2-4 characters that were able to actually climb to and stay above 1000 notoriety for the reset bonus as well. I really hope you reconsider your adjustments and try to make some changes that will actually balance out the higher degree of grinding needed.
Event/rewards/tours 7/10:
The event itself was relatively decent with regards to both rewards and required characters. The lowered amount of required matches for the bonus characters were nice. The tours were very open and had good rewards. The solo and faction rewards were good, though the solo event required a large amount of spending if you didnt pull bayley and even a good amount if you did pull her in order to max. These milestones are in a solid directions though and having 4ss recruit is nice as well.

Just adding to my feedback now that I’ve gone through the event. My initial impressions remain the same, but I will add a few things:
1) the bags were a disappointment, as expected. I don’t like grinding for a reward that has like 250% variability. A range from 35-500 shards is pointless. It makes it so that a person can get to milestone 3 and pull the card while somebody gets to milestone 14 or 15 or even maxes but is still no better off because they don’t get her. If you’re working to earn a milestone, your reward should be known. Leave the RNG for loot tables.
2) I think the event would have been much better received if there had been a “win x number of showdown battles” component to offset the increase in notoriety required to max. As it stood there was no added benefit to maxing, so the event was a unilateral step down for the majority of the community.
3) If I win this contest I retroactively change my feedback to “best event ever.” Do your thing Karma gods.

I played the event, I am not a big fan of moving up to 1k notoriety but it would have been a lot better if you did the increase but the rewards the same for the previous tiers and just added a new reward for the 1k tier. I think if you guys could implement something like that it would go over more better. Another thing that was kind of a let down was when you refresh to get a new set of players to pick from it gives you the same 3 as last time almost every time so that really isn't a refresh and a waste of coins. I am fan of special units so mutants, zombies, motu keep them coming it makes the game fresh and can you give new ways to give us units of the same name. Overall I still enjoyed SD but their could be improvements to make it better and more enjoyable.

Even if the new changes worked you're still expecting people in European time zones to stay up all night. It's a three day event but the crucial scoring period starts on a Saturday evening and goes 12 hours through a Saturday night, peak socialising hours for the week. This has been mentioned before but with the new changes we need to be putting more effort in than ever but you continue with this really small 12 hour scoring window before SD coins are sent out. Surely opening it out to a 24 hour window would make it fairer for everyone.

The worst showdown ever and l didn't even bother trying to reach 1000 points because was a complete waste off my weekend and for the first time l didn't really care about this rip off showdown event .

Hello,
First time "commenter" lol. Not a huge fan of the new structure for the SD this weekend. Bring up the notoriety to 1000 was tough as it's hard to get to 700 some times. That being said, if more SD coin was given in better, making the chase to 1000 not feel as difficult, that would have been cool, cause then you won't feel as bad if you don't hit the 1000. Thats about it. I also felt like i "fought" the same user over and over. That may not be a SD issue, maybe just a server thing, but that was different this time too i found.
I hope my comment helps you improve the SD. I didn't think there was anything wrong before, to be honest, but i get you guys are trying to keep improving :)
Thanks,
Sunnyd212121

This is one of the toughest SD I had to play.
Once I got up to the 600 notoriety, I hit a wall of 5ss / 5sb characters.
Definitely not newer player friendly. Not impossible but definitely difficult with a lot of gold coins spent on refreshing.
Rewards for the faction contest were pretty unappealing.
Rewards for the solo contest were unappealing but similar to some past SD events.
Maybe SD matches and be split into the league a player is in? Maybe player XP / level?

- Spending for a refresh for 2/3 of the opponents to remain the same is robbery.
- Switching to 1,000 has successfully eliminated several players from getting further in the event.
- Having women first for the showdown is a nice change of pace. However, the combination of the switch AND moving requirement to 1,000 made the event worthless.

The increase made this a very hard and long showdown. We should be getting extra SD coins if we have to keep a higher notoriety.

Every month you ask for "constructive criticism" on an another event but it's same old event month after month the only thing that changes is it's themed on a new character.
Be creative switch it up.
Hope you find my comments constructive.

I used to really enjoy showdown but it seems that every change made to it just makes it less and less enjoyable. The top league was raised from 700 to 1000 and didn’t add any additional showdown coins for being that high. There should be a league at 700 and a league at 1000 now to differentiate and provide more coins for being over 1000.
The paywall is getting out of hand as well. You had to spend for the loot event in order to max the SD event. Just seems like the game is requiring more time and money for less rewards.

I like the character and the tours.
Showdown is very difficult to get to 700 league, so 1000 is not a good change. I also see the same opponents almost every time.
Two events for spending is boring. Please add some events for winning matches.
