Wrestlemania Unleashed event thread

The Victory Tour is of NO value to me. I can't participate in a single match because MVP is the only one I have and the geniuses put him in a tag team match. Thanks for nothing!
Same goes for this new Blitzmania!
You give me free tickets to play a new contest for which I don't have even a 2nd needed wrestler (and I have over 100 of them - It's not like I just started playing)!
USELESS!

Blitzmania
Concept: Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, and harkening back to the days of Hogan vs. Warrior is definitely a solid foundation for a concept.
Gameplay: At least in the Warrior blitz (couldn't tell you about Hogan) - I'm going up against a random group of tier 1-2 characters in the game that are tangentially connected to the Warrior at best. The gameplay is tuned away from the Hogan vs. Warrior Legends Era concept in favor of just serving up difficult people to face. As a result, the concept feels like a cheap shell for everything else about this event, a forced difficulty gate as very few people have even one Hogan, and there's not that many that even have one Ultimate Warrior.
Contest Tasks: Players have reported buggy blitzes, so it's for the best that each step of the 12-match (!) blitz rewards progress toward the contest. I personally disagree with having the blitzes be tiered by roster talent - if I'm paying real money for extra blitz tickets, I should be able to get the maximum reward no matter what my talent is. I would sing a different tune if the blitz tickets were free or only attainable by trading in regular blitz tickets.
Contest Milestones: That's a lot of blitzing to get to the first milestone. I appreciate that the first milestone is potentially worth getting versus some of these past events where the first few milestones are useless, but it's the typical black/white development style that this game falls into where a middle ground is so rarely reached.
Contest Loot: It's a loot with Hogan in it - you're supposed to lose.
Contest Store: I appreciate being able to trade in regular blitz tickets for more chances at Blitzmania, even if it rubs some people the wrong way. It's the one "middle-ground" development choice made in this event, and I'm sure it's good for those people that want to get a little extra out of this event.
Overall: A concept that looks interesting on paper with middling execution and gameplay that is geared to players with multiple 5-stars of specific wrestlers. If I was closer to unlocking Shelton I'd be sweating more about getting these blitzes in, I suppose.
Meh.

Very busy month, lot of stuff to talk about- both good and bad:
- Talent Up was a pretty notable step down from previous months - instead of giving people a lesser person in full (or at least the shards for them in full) this event with for a tenth of the shards needed for a top-tier guy. Honestly, those shards might as well be useless unless you were really close to him like I was. Thankfully Socko shards were also given out in the prize wall, so there was a chance at a good number of Socko shards this month. There was also a skill plate bag (always appreciated) but I was less receptive to that this month because I got a second Godfather's Mojo (read: useless unless I'm looking at taking Tech DiBiase up) but that's more of a personal comment.
- MVP's... good! Like, actually properly solid and someone one might work on outside of the obligation of the MLC, and flexible enough one can approach him at multiple angles. He's not super top-tier (which is to be expected, he is a freebie) but he's a useful addition to even a mid-range roster and the fact that you guys gave the Hurt Business link to PH Shelton means that you can also leverage both to their advantage in tag matches.
- Tours were, once again, solid enough - good rewards, not too long, and the requirements (barring side nodes, which are always a bit tougher) were reasonable enough. Bonus points seemed to be a bit all over the place and generally difficult, but some did include most people could have and it wasn't like last month where if you didn't get the new characters you were screwed for a week. That being said, never put Montez Ford in a tour or blitz ever again.
- Prize wall is the same as usual (fine enough) but the addition of weekly shards were a nice addition. It doesn't seem like they're returning for next month, which is a real shame because it's a nice alternative to just buying up more resources for next month.
- The Icons set was a big part of this month, so I figured I'd talk about it - Very solid edition, and a great way to implement those kinds of long-term goals in terms of actual characters. Some people are going to be upset that it takes like 6 months to get one of the characters (and I do wonder that if it'll even be feasible to get the entire set, especially seeing as the latest set seems to be the most difficult yet) but as a general concept they're very good and the fact that their shards are consistently available makes them much more consistent to work towards than Wolfpac Sting (appreciate the odds boost on that btw). I do wish that there were more shards available for sale at once, even if the cost goes up, as it means that you're more dependent on refreshes.
- The Wrestlemania Mayhem contests were a big part of the MLC, and definitely a mixed bag - On the one hand, they gave out a LOT of legendary straps, with some of those being very useful WM-based tag links giving them a lot of utility. In addition (barring the first one which was just a mess all-around) they were all mostly grindable and actually reasonable given the blitz ticket requirements. And it's a good thing they were easily grindable and gave out all those legendary straps, because the mystery coin reveal was just sad. It's one thing to hype them up for a month only for it to be Icons shards, but in most cases you hardly got any shards for anybody - If were were talking five times as many shards for each pull (which could have easily been done, those shards are spread across 18 characters), maybe, but I can't imagine the highly-negative feedbabck to the shard bag reveal was entirely unexpected.
