Going to be as constructive as possible here:
When you have people that are willing to swallow their pride and chase a joke character because there are surprisingly-generous rewards attached to the event, maybe don't pull the rug out from under them next time.
Resource scarcity in this game is a huge, huge issue when there are daily modes that collect dust and remain completely unchanged until the superstar attached to them jumps ship to another company. Just do the joke post with Chuck Norris, get your memes in from 2004 and don't get our hopes up about grinding our fingers to the knuckles in showdown for actually-decent rewards for once.

Yeah, said so on the other thread. No one in their right mind would have believed it, but it's still tone-deaf as can be. And let the following sink in: even all the coin, the very generous amount that was jokingly shown, wouldn't have been close to enough to cover a single week of MLC Coin events.
That's the actual April Fools right there.
Anyway, back to business as usual I guess. Can't wait to see the usual 5ss wall up at 400 notoriety. Or opponents at a reasonable talent you can't target "because". It's always one of those.
6 -
Am I being overly optimistic thinking this event will offer much more SD coins (like people have been requesting)?
The points per showdown coins are listed as only 10, rather than the usual 50-100 points, so does this mean more SD coins will be available?

I like a challenge, but I think the limited time tour has some very unreasonable requirements and it's not just needing the top tier characters. The past showdown events had reasonable open tours that you complete your era and/or class based wrestlers with requirements sprinkled on top and one for the chase character.
Now, limiting it to 3 characters (one of which you can't even show us a preview of for Icon's of Wrestlemania) + an open women's tour is a step backwards in my opinion.

I agree with all that has been said before. The lash out tour is almost impossible to progress past Normal mode for most people, spending resource on Showboat Orton, Showboat Cena and Trickster Big Show is not worth the effort for the extra reward and out of my faction only one of us has Kairi Sane which shows how rare she is!
I notice part of the solo event is to increase Modern era superstars talent, but the coin and Evo event is taken away!! Which means any coin spent upgrading Modern talent doesn't provide any rewards unless you have a huge amount of coin to upgrade loads of modern superstars who you may or may not use after this event. I wish roster management was a bit easier and resources freer to decide who we want to upgrade and when...earning rewards for upgrading is a good incentive but there are only so many 'x era' superstars worth pushing at any one time for most people!
I'm hoping the Showdown "opponent unavailable" issues are resolved for this weekend. I can only ever seen to get matches on the second day in the UK.

So once again... same issue as last showdown event: CANT CHALLENGE ANYONE!!! How about you fix that issue as it’s getting annoying!

Seriously fix the showdown event this is the umpteenth time with opponent has recently been attacked message its honestly sad and annoying on how you can't fix something as tiny as this
0 -
Well as you can see showdown hasn't been fixed

If you get off to a slow start, or don't have 5 star silver characters, this event is literally unplayable.
2 -
This event, so far, is unplayable. It's at least nice that we get the free refresh after two unavailable opponents, but why are they even presented to me to begin with. I do 10-15 refreshes, and still can't find a playable opponent. We have an event that requires us to win 250 matches, and in the first two hours, I've been able to do TWO matches. TWO!!! How are we supposed to even come close to finishing this event in the time you have provided??? You said last month that you were fixing this issue, but this issue CLEARLY has not been fixed.

I have zero faith that anyone with Scopely will read this and they have hung 95% of their players out to dry so I don’t expect any action but I’ll say my feedback. Seems that Unless you are a whale that gets the town hall or discord chat with the devs all you get is the survey link which doesn’t help make change.
With that pre-text
Rewards are very subpar. It’s always the same, enough shards to get you halfway but only a few lucky people or big spenders will get the featured.
card art for lashley is bad!
Tours are not very helpful and have terrible bonus options (CG Cena????)
where are the resources? You keep rolling out new “gotta have” characters but most of the player base already has 10 other people they are trying to get to a playable level and resources are way too scarce. Update the road or get creative. Feels like it’s been the same stuff for years!
fix the basics. How are there still some of the same known issues that have been going on for months?? Opponent matching doesn’t work as is. Fix it!
People are sick of spending hundreds on loot for a character they won’t get or if they do get a rare, they won’t get him to a competitive level for months. Better things to do with their money.

I'm sorry but this event is so poor, from the lack of rewards/resources to the broken Showdown. Again. It took me three hours to get a playable match. From 8pm until 12.30am, not a word from Scopely during this time too. I know timed events are likely to cause some problems somewhere in the world but with Showdowns it's constantly the people in European and surround time zones having to sit up playing until crazy times in the morning and crossing their fingers that if they log off to sleep they don't fall below the arbitrary markers and are penalized. An event that happens every fortnight that holds it against you if you sleep! It's been going on years now and it's only getting worse now with the Showdowns being unplayable for the first few hours, the contempt shown for players on a regular basis is mind boggling. As soon as problems crop up there's no one to be seen, but when there's another new character released people are falling over themselves to talk it up and get people spending. Scopely should be ashamed with themselves that events they've been putting on for years (and in some cases it's daily) are still bugged.
There shouldn't be this much ill will between a company and it's fan base, people want to play the game. They want to give you money for the new characters, give them things for the time and money they put into it. Let them build and grow rather than miserly dishing out tiny amounts of shards, coins and TP. I don't want to sound confrontational but this is four or five years of playing the game coming to a head after another event littered with problems.

Yeah, again the showdown was shit.
I did the 250 showdown matches to get a equal odds bagg. next time make it worth doing those 250 matches. The only one i didn´t have was dango. Everyone else were common characters. Sucks big time to get a 3sg farooq nation leader.

Yet another completely ass-backward showdown event where I end with less coins than I started. How tf are we supposed to do this week's coin/evo events when all the coins for this event are locked behind the final milestones?? Your entire player base have been complaining about resource scarcity for months now, and what is your response? A big middle finger to all of us in the form of this event...well done!
3 -
Same crap different theme... the only improvement is that coins are not wasted as you get a new set of characters to choose from once 2 out of the 3 show this:
It doesn’t help that the opponents to choose from are mostly Fully loaded 5SS Socko’s while I am struggling to even make a 5SS character set.
The prizes are not worth the efforts, what is the point in wasting the resources for 250 matches when these are your prize options:
As this is your current inventory:
Wasted money on Lashley pulls still nowhere near recruiting him.
Really not a fan of showdowns at this point, I don’t think development will ever get it right.

My suggestion is spreading the coin out among each individual milestone instead of sticking 6 plus million coin on a pretty unobtainable final milestone. Coin is an always needed resource. To waste a weekend of grinding and not getting 5 to 6 million coin is a waste of a weekend to most of your player base.
1 -
Yeah, putting almost all coin in the final milestone that is virtually impossible to reach for 99% of the player base is asinine - as is putting 70 out of 75 MLC shards on the last faction milestone (and not one in the solo rewards) - thank you very much, I didn't wanna get this month's MLC anyway, despite saving three months on it. And here we are full circle: saving ain't even possible no more of all I get is 1million out of a weekend full of showdown.
Great job guys, really, well done...

This event has been right up there with the very worst that Scopely have ever done.
The pros -
The limited time tours linked to faction event were ok, and they worked first time. Thank you
The negatives
- Showdown is broken. Far too many reports of people not able to get matches. Even with the free refresh, it was still a disaster.
- The structure of the solo event was ridiculous. Even if you had all the required characters, and got the maximum amount of SD coins, and did all the free portal claims, you'd still need around 315 pulls to max. This number drops to 115 pulls if your faction completes the faction event and you complete the 250 wins event. That's absolutely ridiculous.
- 10 points for the event for a showdown coin. At best you could get around 75k showdown coins over the event. That's less than 10% of the total needed for the solo contest. This was 50 in the last event. Why drop it - the other events didn't make up for this at all.
- The milestones for the solo event were insane. The vast majority of the rewards were in the last 2 milestones. Why do that? There's absolutely no need to make it so top heavy.
- 2000 shard recruit is terrible. Make it achievable and people will chase
- The introduction of packs that give showdown wins for sale in the store is absolutely disgusting. The pay to win contest is the solo. Why do you have to do that for the 250 win event? Doing it at the last minute is a kick in the nether regions to anyone who has grinded for most of the event. Doing 20+ hours of showdown is hard enough.
I'm sorry to say, but Scopely really shit the bed with this event. You're driving players away from the game.
10 -
Not too sure where to start:
The cons:
- tons of issues with opponents unavailable
- even worst for revenges
- purchases not counting for the portal bonus event
- 250 wins is overkill
- rewards are poorly distributed in milestones and all at the end
- clearing everything dont even give you 2/3 of Lashley
- the equal odd bag has equally awful common guys in it...
- selling wins at the end is a slap in the face for those that grinded, at least usually they know upfront the leaderboard can be bought, it's not dropped last minute
- the whole event feels like payback for the drew event
The pros:
- it's almost over

i think the math was off with the Bobby lashley SD amounts. I highly believe the webportal should have had 300,000 each day at least. Most people are wayyyyy short of the final milestone. Bringing them closer would have increased sales in the store. But the top 100 in at least league 17 aren’t even close.
maybe adjust the numbers higher in different areas.

The Showdown event is becoming headache
No opponent to fight
Not gonna max without spending too much real money
Each and everyday this game is loosing its reputation

1 hour, 3 matches. No one can be attacked. Worst experience ever!

around the time that ZPaige was the contest person, we had a zombie versus event where we could do versus matches to count towards score. while we did get one this event, i would prefer it to be tied to the versus event. the ability to grind versus matches without a cap of "showdown coins" would make me care more about the sd events. i havent finished a sd event for a long time because of this
1 -
Ok let me start with the positive. The resources available were great.
That leads me into my biggest con, having almost ALL of them in the final milestone that required something like $1000 to get to is a slap in the face. Also, at this point of the MLC, the amount of contest points isn't worth much in the early milestones of the faction contest. If there hadn't been a faction contest attached to this event I wouldn't have done even half of the matches I did do. There have been significantly better contests just in the last 60 days. Just make it seem like I'm not wasting my time.
I do understand that every contest isn't going to be free to max and I dont have a problem with that, I just think it would build a little more good will if we were able to get close to the available resources by getting near the last milestone.

Have to echo what a lot of people said in that this was a real rough event - from restrictive and sometimes nonsensical tours (You couldn't pay me enough to level Acro Cena to 3SG, and I already have the poster at 3SG) to pretty much every asset of the showdown event, from the kneecapped point gain from showdown tokens to the seemingly purposefully obscured equal odds bag, because if people knew who was in this bag (Bayley, PH Nash, PH Dream, PH Show, SB Lacey, SB Orton, Akam, Dango, Striker Sting, Striker Bray, Tech Orton, Rezar, Steele, Lawler, Trick Faarooq, Woods, Trick Show) nobody would have grinded the 250 matches for it.
The only thing I can really say is that I did like the idea of a grind-based showdown contest (one that didn't require you trawling through 200 notoriety of 5SS Ortons and Sockos to maximize returns) but if the reward at the end of it is going to be characters you could primarily get from your average key pull, it's not going to work out. I also still think that the currently implemented system does do a lot to make showdown more playable, even if it is still hell on earth getting a match for the first six or so hours. I really do think just having everyone always available to attack and only having some attacks count on the defender's end (Say, after a registered attack none others count for the next 15 minutes) is the way to go.

As mentioned by MattSabre and Guersan, selling 'wins' for the Showdown Fest event near the end was disgraceful.
You had players doing more than 700 matches over 20-28 hours to compete for a leaderboard spot. Waiting until the last few hours to pull the rug out from under them is one of the worst things I can remember happening in the game.
I had been planning on praising this event on here before this happened. Having 10 leaderboard spots for 'wins only' was something I suggested in the past, so I was very impressed to see this separate 'grind' event.
If events like this happen again, spending should not be a scoring method. If for some reason, there absolutely must be spending in BOTH solo events, players have to be made aware that spending counts from the beginning; not when they've already played for 24 hours.
