Drew McIntyre's Feud Fury event thread

Pros- the feud itself worked fairly smoothly. Did not seem to be as many broken queues or as much red ring as normal. The shard/character bag was a nice change in lieu of shards for a character everyone has. Combine that with the faction and solo feud events and the rewards weren’t that bad. The biggest pro of the weekend was the company realizing that changing Drew’s shard recruit to 2000 after the event was alive for hours was wrong. That situation was beginning to turn ugly in most faction chats and would have bubbled over into social media quickly. It was also destined for an uptick in chargebacks. The situation was handled fast by scopely standards.
con- the fact that some one still thought it was ok to change the shard recruit mid event is a pretty big con. The only other thing off the top of my head was the required characters for the faction event were on the rarer side. A single more common option to allow everyone to participate would be appreciated.

This was how more events should be. The 1200 shard requirement was perfect for this character. Factions and players still needed to spend to get him so you still made plenty of profit I’m sure. Other than the tours not working correctly over the weekend (Kofi tour), they were adequate. The amount of feuding required kept you on the game for a long time which I’m sure you like, but that grind can be tiresome and actually might be seen as a negative for some, but overall not terrible.
The loot for Drew was horrendous as usual. There needs to be a better offering in loot pulls because time and time again, there are extremely common characters sprinkled in throughout the loot. Spending $$ for a very high chance at characters you will never ever use is a big deterrent for the majority of players.
I hope you learn from this event instead of seeing it as another mistake. Your player base is generally happy, and I can’t imagine you didn’t make profit from it.

So the changing of Drew from 1200 to 2000 was a bad mistake. Yes, the blog said 4SG unlock and the contest was designed around that. However, once live in game you can’t change it, especially when people are posting screenshots on social media of recruiting him at 4SB from shards. Changing him back, great, thank you for listening to the players and doing the right thing. That being said, in the end mostly anyone that had all the required CSS and was in a faction that maxed the faction contest was able to recruit Drew with minimal spending if any. This is a nice reward for previous spending which there needs to be more of.

while I understand that the blog stated 2k instead of 1200, it would have been avoided if it was more clear when announced in trial or in between so us as the community would have not gotten the shell shock experience, which unfortunately did happen. Other than that feud was good can’t complain, solo was 😒 wasnt the best.
At the end of the day, if things like this going to be a norm, how about a heads up vs a small print in a blog.

The overall event was solid, the rewards were worth the effort and the fact Scopely reverted Drew to 1200 shards to get him and owned their mistake is a huge positive and step in the right direction.

I won't address the Drew situation, I think you guys got the memo there... The solo event was quite a good challenge... The feud rewards are a joke though. The fact that someone who did two feuds in the 100th faction can get better rewards from that chest potentially than someone who grinds for several hours in a top 40 faction, or someone who grinds the 8-10 hours for the solo in a top faction, simply defies logic. The concept is great, the execution is poor... Why did 1-100 get the same chest? Or the same quantity of chests?
Two possible solutions here... Either make the top chests more interesting... Up the quantity, make their odds differ, change rarities, something like that.... Option two, make a feud prizewall - Have all those characters on a prize wall, reward a feud currency, and allow the player to pick their reward (You can obviously make the top ones more expensive, and more of a grind to get), and have the amount of said currency differ from rank to rank... Top rank gets say... 10K, second get 7, third gets 5, and it drops, so there is a scale between rewards... Not some random luck based pull that everyone else got.
