Oddly enough, in-game pop-up ads (like the current 1-2-3 kid one) display correctly and on top of the black bars.

are you full screen ? it looks pretty narrow almost like on a phone, when I'm full screen on my computer on the portal mine is almost 1.5 time the width of that

Yes I'm full screen and at a very high resolution……………… MacBook pro with 27" external monitor. I didn't screen grab the rest of the screen because the issue is confined to the gameplay area.
To make as much of the game visible as possibleI have to maneuver the screen and toy with its responsiveness.
It's really helpful to know how your screen functions, though…

@BigBaddyDaddy can you make sure the zoom on your browser is 100%. If the zoom is greater than 100%, that can affect the display of the game.
Also, try playing around with your browser window width to see if that helps the issue. Thank you for your patience here.

Neither of those things are the problem. As mentioned above, I have to tinker with the width of the browser to get as much of the game to show as possible. That still does nothing to solve the problem. In game ads show properly—as if they're on a different layer that goes above every other element—nothing else shows properly, however.

@BigBadDaddy What screen size monitor are you playing on? Your resolution looks really big and the content looks small compared to mine. Can you try making your browser window smaller and seeing if that helps?
Another option is to try to increase the zoom of your browser window a bit.
Once we figure out the cause of your issue, we will put in a permanent fix.

As mentioned above, I'm on a 27" external monitor (2560 x 1440). It's connected-to and running-off of a 15" macbook pro.
A smaller browser window doesn't solve the issue. Adjusting to any and all sizes does not change the contents of the gameplay pane, it only reveals fractions more or less at the side or bottom but eventually stops and leaves me with the same black bars.
Increasing (or decreasing) the zoom also does nothing but adjust the size of the content. It does NOT resize the game much (if at all).

@BigBaddyDaddy can you attach the contents of the javascript console (Cmd+Option+J on chrome) when you are on one of the game screens with black bars?

@BigBaddyDaddy Besides the console logs, can you also try using a different browser to see if it also happens there?

Hi there @hungover. Circling back here.
You'll notice I started the conversation off by saying that different browsers exhibited the same behaviour. I've since focused on Chrome because, frankly, the game gives me too many issues logging in on Safari so I've given up trying.
Attached is the contents of the console as requested.
