Its great that there is a single contest again where you can gain points with using certain characters. I just hope the rewards will be worth it, but usually its not bad in sd-contests (although by far not as nice as some months ago).
i guess we will have a mixed tag-team starting with men. It would actually make sense to switch that at half time, ie when the counter is reset let the women start. They did that months ago actually if i remember correctly.

the faction coin rewards seem very low... 10k for milestone one while it’s 50k in the solo first milestone

What does everyone do for showdown events? Claim the points for the special characters first? Or try to max out the coins first?

On first day i try to bring home all bonus points battles. Only Shawn who is 2* could win 1 of his 3 matches yet. But i made all 24 other matches i needed for the contest. Now i need only 7,000 more sd-coins to reach 3,8 mio. milestone. That should be easy tomorrow when the weekly bonus arrives. In so far i can try to grab as many sd-coins as possible in the contest tomorrow without any pressure since 5,3 mio. milestone is out of reach anyway.
btw: the lacey evans single tour is truly a bit unfair. I could win the first match (despite 40% talent disadvantage), but without buying her on 3* for 90$ that‘s all you can expect. Thus, 2 out of 3 tours can only be played by the whales. Why not make it 1 tour for them and at least give others the realistic chance to play normal and hard mode on both other tours?!

So what is the point of this message board if you AREN'T GOING TO LISTEN TO US? Here we go again.... in the span of SIXTY FOUR SECONDS I lost SEVEN MATCHES. SEVEN!!!!!!!!! MY Notoriety dropped from 550 to 366. Once again, I've been playing this mode for ELEVEN HOURS without maxing the thing. FIX YOUR GAME WILL YOU?

Growing really tired of hitting the minimum shard amounts in every single one of these events. zRoman, zBryan, Chyna, AJ, and the list goes on. Yet again I'll max all the showdown coins, beat the tours and finish with quite a high ranking in the solo (and faction) event but still be 100s of shards away. Is there no better solution to RNG for everything? Of course I understand the model of getting people to spend for the remaining shards, but if you leave people $500/500 shards away, they're going to lose interest. Put them within 100-200 shards and they'll be likely to spend (even for a trash character like AJ).
If you want to give lower ranking players who won't hit the shard recruit a 'chance at' pulling characters from bags, why not utilize a prize wall? Those who rank/score high enough can use the event currency to get the poster at low rarities OR take a chance at bags for the high rarity unlock. Those ranked lower would only have enough currency to buy the shards bags and hope to get lucky.

I'm in a Top 7 faction because I bust my ass. As I said, I tried for 11 hours to max that damn showdown. During feuds, I'm hopped up on Red Bull and feuding throughout. As are all the other members of our faction. Don't like the faction you're in? Get your stats up and try to get in a better one. And I have to KEEP busting my ass or else someone will take my spot in said Top 7 faction.

This showdown competition was rough. Not being able to max the solo event due to opponents with OP characters and my defense being constantly attacked. I'm losing my motivation to bother with Showdown events going forward.

I understand the blog is subject to change but removing the 200 pts per win in the faction contest prior to start of event ( still listed on blog), ended up costing some factions the chance at maxing the event.

Pros-better RNG on the bags. gear in milestones. bonus wasn't difficult. faction contest was obtainable for many.
Cons-not achievable without spending or a ton of talent up. Removing the per match point method. showdown matchmaking was still causing people to get hit a LOT making it difficult or impossible to reach required milestones for the weekly showdown coins.

I will say I was generally more successful shard-wise in this even than others - I got just shy of 1,000 shords. I also appreciate them slipping in a 5SG token into a milestone that doesn't require 300 bucks to get to, so I guess we're firmly in the zone where us normies can evolve people to 5 stars, but that more accurately started about a month ago.
Of course, the fact that I'm never going to pick up the remaining ~600 means that those shards are, like with many other characters, paperweights. That, doubled with the fact that they're pushing a ton of AJ gears real hard, made the event a bit hollow - It's not like getting all of AJ's gears is going to magically make him on par or better than Rey, a guy we got a few weeks ago with much less investment.

Pros: The bonus points weren’t too rare to obtain for the most part, the tours were ok and the Hp was appreciated. The shard drop rate seems to have improved.
Cons: Multiple issues at the start, advertised point method of 200 per SD match was not available, spending was required to max despite having everyone you need. The SD itself had its usual issues. Getting attacked non-stop back to back while others with weaker defenses get attacked once or twice the entire team. The biggest issue was lack of coins. The community is so coin poor now it’s impossible for most to keep up

Pros- The faction event was fairly well balanced. Staying over 500 while tricky for a lot of people allowed people to gain enough points to max the event (ie each individual gain 1 percent). As it stands 31 factions managed to max. The rewards were lesser as a result but with its ease that was to be expected. Also making the bonus points for the faction event to be individually based helped. One person was able to swoop in and steal them all.
negative- the solo contest was a sham. The total shards were at a higher level and on the surface it appeared that the rewards were reworked to give the playerbase a better chance at unlocking aj. However this was a fallacy. It was built to get players even closer to aj but to leave them about 100 shards short so they would be more enticed to “spin the loot”.

Pros: faction event was structured well.
Cons: once again this broken game mode screwed me over. Over 700 notoriety going into a match, win the match, have 583 notoriety with 3 minutes left to reset. The 75 dx Chyna shards in the 2nd last milestone whould of given me enough to recruit her. Instead I get 20,000 less showdown coins cuz I wasn’t over 700. Getting hit 12 times in 4 minutes is just ridiculous. Not sure what else to say.
Needing trick Lacey for the tour was lame but whatever.

I normally like to get thru the bonus points first, especially if your doing 10+ matches for a particular bonus character. But it also depends on the levels that bonus character is and in what position he/she will be placed at.
