HYPE NEEEDS CHANGING

Long-time player, first-time commenter – thoughts on the new HYPE system

I’ve been playing since the beginning, and while I’ve never commented here before, I feel like I need to speak up about the recent changes—specifically HYPE.

I’m sitting on a 13M roster and in a top 3 faction, so I’m no stranger to the competitive side of the game. But this new mode? Honestly, it’s a hard no for me.

If HYPE is here to stay, it seriously needs some refinement. Players in top factions understand the importance of speed in feuds and showdown. That’s how you earn the top rewards—through efficiency and momentum. HYPE completely disrupts that.

Now, before even starting a match, you have to:

  • Check the HYPE levels
  • Account for class advantages/disadvantages
  • Consider belts, plates, MP trainers, etc.

It turns into a 10-minute planning session before you can even fight—and by the time you do, the clock’s ticking, and you’ve already lost time and likely some rewards. Gone are the days of quick, strategic action. This feels over-complicated and punishing.

I get that the game needs evolution, and change isn’t always bad—but this particular change feels like it benefits whales who can buy resources and stack HYPE tiers. Meanwhile, the everyday player is left behind.

I honestly don’t know how this system is supposed to attract new players when it’s this convoluted right out the gate.

Just my thoughts—but after all this time playing, this direction doesn’t feel right.

Title. This hype system completely changes the things many of us paid years to set our rosters up for.

This might FINALLY be the change that lets me quit. I don’t feud to THINK. Maybe some do, but it take long enough as it is to get score so I can claim weak prizes.

this new feature is absolutely awful. Despite previously being a decent spender, this may push me over the edge to finally call it quits. I do appreciate scopely finally helping to make the decision easier.

Agreed 100%. Scopely finally catered to their mega whales. This literally makes feuds and showdown unplayable unless you spend out your ass for hype. You should be ashamed of yourselves Scopely. Awareness is a bullshit mechanic.

I'm right their with you on this, and I have been playing since the beginning and have a 13.5 million roster. Honestly this is just to much especially to have to try and counter especially with all the other moving parts like gem and move reduced medals and straps, moments that add a variety of different factors. Now you can't just set trainers and coaches and be able to leave them for the most part. For me I have had to constantly move MP reduce trainers before almost every match within the brawl. It takes away from the whole fueding aspect. This isn't going to be any better with showdown either. From what I have seen of showdown if either of their player has more hype than either of yours they go first.

despite all the changes to this game, some I have liked some I have disagreed with, the fact that no matter what you always got to go first no matter what was a huge plus especially when trying to counter all the changes they have made.

This is nothing more than a money grab by scopely. Players that spend getting the extra hype points and pulls will be at an absolute plus advantage against everyone else.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. We have provided much feedback to the team surrounding hype and they are looking into how to make improvements
